We Blog Any car tested the new Kia Stinger GTS.
The Stinger GTS is Kia’s flagship model. This is Kia’s first rear wheel drive car and it is powered by a twin turbo 3.3 litre V6 engine that produces 365 bhp.

If you have read my previous blogs regarding the Kia Stinger, you would know that I am already pretty impressed with what Kia have achieved with this car.

The price of the GTS model I drove is £40,535 on the road. You can pitch it against rivals like the Audi S5 Sportback or the BMW 4 Series M Sport Gran Coupe, but to get the same spec as the Stinger GTS you will be paying a lot more money for the German rival vehicles.

Think of this car as a thinking persons car….and while you are thinking about it don’t forget the 7 year warranty that comes as standard on this car (and all new Kia’s). Peace of mind!

The ride is smooth and the steering is precise. I did get the sense I was driving a big car. For example, when I looked towards the passenger air vent on the dashboard, it seem so far away. But when looking straight ahead, and out of the windscreen, the Stinger does a good job of hiding its size when throwing it into challenging corners.
Let’s be honest…..It isn’t a small car anyway.

It uses a 8 speed automatic gearbox which if you leave it alone to change gear by itself, gave me the impression that it was from a far bigger- luxury saloon. The gear changes were smooth. If you wanted to have a play with a sharper gear change, you need to either change the driving settings or you use the paddles shifts behind the steering wheel.

My thoughts on the interior dashboard haven’t changed. I have copied an extract from my blog below titled” Kia Stinger, Geneva Motor Show 2017″.

“Inside the new Stinger GT, Kia seem to have picked the best bits from all the European car makers. Take a look at the dash. The air vents looks as if they have been taken straight out of the Mercedes Benz C-class. The centre console switches and buttons look as if they have taken their inspiration from Audi.

This is not a criticism.

If I was going to give Audi say a 10/10 for the feel of their switches, metal, plastic and quality of their new interior. This new Kia will get an 9/10 from me.”

My conclusion on this car (after the short drive I had in it) is….
It is a very capable car. I will sum it as a brilliant alternative to the norm.
And don’t forget the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty!!!
