At launch there will be a choice of two engine outputs using a AMG 4.0 litre V8 biturbo unit. The SL63 4MATIC+ produces 585 hp and 800 Nm of torque. 0 to 62 mph takes 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 195 mph.

The SL55 4MATIC+ has 476 hp and 700 Nm of torque. 0 to 62 mph takes 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 183 mph.
Further engine versions to follow, including a hybrid.
