Last Saturday I had the opportunity to visit The Practical Classics and Restoration Show with Discovery at the NEC Birmingham. This is definitely the place to be if you are interested in owning or just seeing a practical classic car.  Think of any car manufacturer…..and I am sure that the owners club was represented at the show. There was 174 motoring clubs with 1,300 vehicles on display.

At the show I could get up and close to the cars and speak to the owners who were more than happy to answer any questions I had. The show wasn’t all about drooling over the cars on show, there was the chance to gain some knowledge too.  Running throughout the weekend were live workshop demos and The Practical Classic Live Stage….where you could even hear from the likes of Mike Brewer.

Classic Car Auctions (CCA) had their biggest sale this year at the show with some truly special cars for sale.  Check out the pictures below.

I also spent quite a bit of time at the many stalls. You could get all sorts of things from car parts to car memorabilia.

“Once again the classic car community has exceeded all expectations and helped to create a fantastic three-day festival of everything motoring. The time and effort the clubs put into their displays, especially with the live working, is incredible and we are in awe of what they achieve.

“This show continues to go from strength to strength, even in uncertain times, and we thank everyone involved – partners, sponsors, traders and visitors – in helping to make this the best show to date.
”

Said Show Director Lee Masters.
