Porsche has set a new lap record for a road-legal car around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The new record time is 6 minutes 40.3 seconds and it was achieved in a 911 GT2 RS MR.

The 911 GT2 RS MR has been equipped with the new performance vehicle set up kit from Manthey-Racing.
Porsche owns 51 percent share in Manthey-Racing and they are responsible for the 2 911 RSR race cars in the FIA WEC.
Porsches customers can order exclusive upgraded parts from Manthey-Racing for race events and track days.

Lars Kern the development engineer who knows the “Ring” very well from test and record drives as well as numerous VLN races. said:

“The drive was great fun. The balance of the car is also very good with the new package. I did not have to take any great risks to be fast. But I only had one attempt because it was already getting dark. It worked out first time though.

Manthey-Racing CEO Nicolas Raeder added:

“We are very proud. It was a great challenge to make the already tremendously fast Porsche 911 GT2 RS even faster.”
