The first thought that went through my mind when I saw the Volvo XC60 at the Geneva Motorshow was…….

This is a safe bet!

It looks like a smaller XC90.  The Volvo designers are just capitalizing on a strong design language which was first seen on their concepts and now on the road going cars.

The new XC60 is 4 wheel drive and will be the first to have City Safety with Steer Assist.  This provides the driver steering assistance to help avoid low speed crashes. Pilot Assist semi-autonomous drive function is also available across the range.

Standard equipment includes: Leather seats, sat nav, 9″inch touch screen, voice activation, power tailgate and LED headlights.

The D4 version has a CO2 emission figure of only 133g/km and a combined fuel economy of 55.4 mpg from its 2.0 litre 4 cylinder diesel engine.

There is talk of a T8 Twin Engine petrol electric plug in hybrid, being available later in 2017.

The new XC60 is available to order now and prices start from £37,205 on the road. Deliveries for autumn 2017.
