So, with the launch of the all new Porsche 911 (model code 992) last week…. I thought I would briefly run through the highlights on this new car.

The range now starts with the Carrera S. The Carrera S is powered by the next generation 3.0 litre flat 6 turbocharged engine. This engine now produces 450 PS….which is around 30 PS more than the previous model.
It has a new 8 speed dual-clutch PDK transmission.  It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds (rear-wheel drive) and 3.6 seconds for the Carrera 4S (all wheel drive). If you opt for the optional Sport Chrono Package you can shave a further 0.2 seconds off the 0 to 62 mph times.
Maximum speed is 191 mph for the Carrera S and 190 mph for the Carrera 4S.

As well as the new 911 being bigger than the previous version, it also features new electric pop-out door handles.  At the rear, it has the (now familiar) rear light bar and a larger pop-up spoiler.

The completely new 911 interior features a 10.9-inch touchscreen monitor and a new look to the dials and rev counter.

In a World first, Porsche has developed a Wet mode. The new 911 can detect water on the road when driving.  When it detects this water….it will prime the control systems accordingly while warning the driver.

The starting price for the new 911 Carrera S Coupé is £93,110.00 and the 911 Carrera 4S Coupé is £98,418.00.
