Land Rover have announced details of the V8 Edition which will celebrate 70 years of Land Rover.

There will be only be a limited run of 150 badged 70th Edition Land Rover Defender.

The specially selected and re-engineered Defenders will have a 5.0 litre V8 engine that produces 405PS and 515 Nm of torque. 0 to 62 mph will only take 5.6 seconds. Other enhancement include:  8 speed ZF auto gearbox, uprated brakes, suspension, 18 inch diamond-torned Sawtooth alloy wheels, bi-LED headlights, Recaro sports seats and Windsor Leather, which covers the interior panels and trim,
Land Rover own Classic Infotainment System is fitted.

“It’s fitting that we’ve been able to release the full potential of the iconic Defender, whose much-loved shape remains synonymous with Land Rover, 70 years since it was seen in public for the first time.

“The idea of reintroducing a V8 Defender was something we were discussing as far back as 2014, when we were still building the Defender in Solihull. We knew the demand was there for a powerful and fast Defender; the Land Rover authenticity is the ultimate finishing touch for discerning clients purchasing these collector’s edition Defenders.”

Both wheelbase  versions (90 and 110) of the Defender Works V8 will be available to buy from Land Rover Classic.

Prices start from £150,000 in the UK.
