Morgan have announced that they will stop making cars with their famous steel chassis this year and this includes their most popular car – the Morgan Plus 4

The Morgan Plus 4 is celebrating its 70thyear in production.  To mark this achievement Morgan will be producing just 20 Plus 4 70th Anniversary Edition cars.

The chassis on the 70th Anniversary Edition cars will be painted in gold – a nod towards the company’s 111 year history.

Each car will be individually numbered with a plaque.

The exterior of the car will be painted in Platinum Metallic paint and will have a motorsport inspired front valance.

The interior will have a Ravenwood veneer dashboard, dark grey box weave carpets and a black Mota-Lita steering wheel.

Morgan’s in-house motorsport specialists have had a little play with the engine.  They have managed to squeeze an extra 26bhp from the unit.  The engine now produces 180bhp with a 0 to 62 mph time of less than 7 seconds. This is thanks to reconfigured engine mapping and Aero Racing sports exhaust.

Prices start at £60,995.00 – which is great news!! The bad news… Is that all 20 Plus 4 70th Anniversary Edition cars have deposits on them!  If you are one of those lucky 20 people…. feel free to feel smug! This car will be the end of an era for the  Morgan Motor Company – but it sets them up nicely for the future ahead.
