50 years ago today, this prototype yellow Lamborghini Countach LP 500 was first shown to the world at the Geneva Motor Show. This futuristic car was designed by Marcelo Gandini, Design Director of Carrozzeria Bertone. The word “Countach” means amazement or wonderment in Piedmontese.
In 1974 this yellow Countach was used for crash testing and ended up being scrapped 😥. In total 1,999 Countachs, in five different series, were produced between 1975 to 1990.
