Volkswagen has just unveiled its new ID Polo and its new instrumentation. The reason why I’m doing this quick post is because I think its’s quite significant that they have taken on the views of their customers and have now incorporated more physical buttons.
Something I am really looking forward to experiencing in real life is the new high-resolution digital instrument display that can be changed to replicate the original 1980’s Volkswagen cars, a clear remnant of the tried and tested original design.

The retro display display in the new ID Polo could really tug at the heartstrings of previous owners. As soon as they see this it could feel like a familiar place to be. I had a 1980’s Golf and a couple of my mates had Jetta’s from the same period, so I am sure they will understand the significance.
Personally, I think this is a really good nod to VW’s past.

Our new interior architecture, starting with the all-new ID. Polo, elevates the customer experience to a new level: with clean lines, high-quality materials, and an intuitive operating environment with physical buttons and newly structured screens. In addition, from the ID. Polo onwards, our next software generation will deliver noticeably more comfort and functions for our customers. This includes, for example, the third generation of Travel Assist, which will soon recognise red traffic lights and stop signs, as well as comfortable one-pedal-driving.
