Vauxhall has just revealed exciting details about the Mokka GSE and it’s shaping up to bring motorsport energy to the streets.
Powered by a 54kWh lithium-ion battery the Mokka GSE produces an impressive 280hp and 345 Nm of torque, rocketing from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of 124 mph.
But the performance isn’t limited to straight line speed. The Mokka GSE is front wheel drive and features a Torsen multi-plate limited slip differential, ensuring sharp and controlled power delivery through the corners. Vauxhall engineers have gone to great lengths promising an engaging drive.
Underneath, the chassis has been significantly overhauled with:
- Specially designed axles
- Double hydraulic shock absorbers
- 189% increased rear axle roll stiffness
- Fully re-tuned steering, suspension sit 10mm lower and braking system with four-piston yellow GSE brake calipers by Alcon.
- 20 inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport EV 225/40 R20 tyres
Vauxhall has used experience of its sister brand Opel which has been in electric rallying for over five years to bring this dynamic package together.
Vauxhall have kept the kerb weight under 1.6 tonnes, a remarkable achievement that should play a big role in both handling and efficiency.
Inside and the sporty theme continues with its GSE Alcantara sports seats, flat top and flat bottom steering wheel, aluminium sports pedals and a high resolution 10-inch digital driver display showing GSE specific data including G-Force tracking, acceleration and battery management data.
Vauxhall has yet to announce pricing but a world premiere and market launch are expected soon.
