I finally understand the Mini Convertible…..especially the Coopers S Convertible.

I will start with the things I personally think that Mini does very well…

The new face lifted models are worth buying just for the Union Jack rear lights alone!!

The interior quality is what we have come to expect from BMW/Mini with every switch and button feeling as good to touch as they do to look at.

Visibility out of the windscreen is good.

This Mini is fitted with a 192 hp 2.0 litre turbo engine.

The 4 cylinder engine has plenty of “poke” and when I drove it with more urgency, I could hear the turbo waste gate whooshing between gear changes (this sound will always put a smile on my face).

With just the hint of the sun….this car is all about folding the electric roof back. This is the one and only reason why you would choose it over the hatch.

With the roof folded back, rear visibility isn’t great. Adult rear passengers might find it a little cramped.

Not sure you would buy this car for its boot space alone.

I also found that with the roof up with windows closed and whilst in stationary traffic I could hear people’s conversations while they walked by. I am going to put that down to the fabric roof.

I can see why the Mini Convertible is so appealing. It can be an extension of you and your personality.

Choose one in the right colour with the right specifications and you will have a car that won’t go out of fashion any time soon.
