Latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that the UK new car market continues its decline for a fourth consecutive month.
In January, the new car market fell by -2.5%, with a total of 139,345 new car registrations.
Petrol new car registrations dropped by -15.3%, but registrations for electric, hybrid electric, and plug-in hybrid vehicles continue to grow.
The electric new car market share appears to be on track to miss the government’s 28% target for 2025.
