I find this hard to believe… but the humble Vauxhall Frontera is celebrating its 30th birthday!

It was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show in 1991. The Frontera was built at the Vauxhall factory in Luton. In 1993 it became the best selling off-road vehicle in Europe – with more than 320,000 units sold.

The original Frontera was available in 2 body styles – a 2 door Frontera Sport, with its removable hard top and shorter wheelbase and a 5 door with a longer wheel base.

In 1998 a new Frontera arrived with much improved handling. It had the ability to switch between rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive (without stopping) thanks to its electronic “No Stop 4×4” system.

The Vauxhall Frontera was produced for over 13 years and soon became a favourite with the off road community. This was mainly because it is a tough and durable vehicle with the added benefits of being maintained quite easily.

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY FRONTERA!!
