The car of the future seems as if it’s going to be battery powered but for the here and now Dacia are going down a different route.  This is the new Dacia Sandero Stepway which can run on Liquid Petroleum Gas.

Liquid Petroleum Gas or LPG for short is a low-carbon fuel especially when compared to diesel or petrol.
I can remember back to the early 2000’s when people were buying big engined diesel and petrol vehicles and then converting them to run on LPG. It was big business for independent garages to do the conversion back then.
Even mainstream manufacturers had an LPG option. I remember the Vauxhall Astra G was available to buy from new that would run on LPG.

LPG hasn’t gone away, it has always been available at some UK petrol and diesel forecourts.

As a motor car , I really can’t fault the new Dacia Sandero Stepway LPG with its updated looks, its signature Y-shaped LED running lights and much improved upmarket interior. Its driving characteristics didn’t set my pulse racing but while driving I couldn’t tell the difference when it was on LPG or petrol. The whole driving experience was comfortable.

But here’s the thing…Prices start from only £13,795 and for that you a car that can do 54.3 mpg. Remember that LPG costs less than diesel and petrol.

Dacia Sandero Stepway LPG represents good value for money (and now has an extra positive with the option for a cheaper and cleaner fuel to run on) it is definitely a car that gives you food for thought.
