This year, Volkswagen is celebrating 50 years of the Polo.
There have been six generations of the Polo. It made its debut in 1975 as a compact car that was heavily based on the Audi 50.

The second generation Polo arrived in 1981, offering more space, comfort, and modern engines for its time.

In 1987, the limited special series Polo Coupe G40 arrived with its supercharged engine.

The third generation Polo launched in 1994 and was among the first vehicles in its class to feature airbags.

By 1998, the Polo became available in a GTI version.

In 2002, the fourth-generation Polo arrived, significantly larger and equipped with side airbags, ABS, and power steering as standard.

The fifth-generation Polo followed in 2009, achieving notable success in motorsport by winning the World Rally Championship four times in a row from 2013.

Finally, the current sixth-generation Polo, introduced in 2017, set new benchmarks in connectivity and safety.
