UK new car registrations for the month of August are traditionally quiet, with many new car buyers preferring to wait until September for the new number plate. Last month was no different, with a -1.3% drop in new car registrations.
However, battery electric vehicles (BEV) registrations rose by 10.8%.
Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that a total of 84,575 new cars were registered last month.
August 2024 best selling car was the Ford Puma.
