Latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that the UK new car registrations grew by 1.0% in April.
This has been the 21st consecutive month of growth but private new car sales continues to fall down -17.7% to 50,458.
A total of 134,274 new cars were registered last month.
