This is Japan’s first Zero Emission Ambulance.

The all-electric ambulance is a Nissan NV400. The number of crew and passengers it can carry is 7.

It has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 33kWh, the electric motor has a maximum power output of 55 kilowatts and 220 Nm of torque.

Thanks mainly to its EV powertrain, vibration and noise (within the vehicle) will be a lot lower than a traditional ambulance.

The project was a collaboration between Nissan, the Tokyo Fire Department and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

Nissan strongly believes in sustainable mobility and strives to contribute to a world with zero emissions and zero fatalities. This project is another great example of our efforts to enhance accessibility of eco-friendly vehicles to local communities.”

Said Ashwani Gupta, representative executive officer and chief operation officer at Nissan.

I personally think an electric ambulance is a great idea and could be the future of all such vehicles.
