Last Saturday (13th May) I attended an Italian car event (supported by Auto Italia Magazine) at the picturesque Prescott Speed Hill Climb.
Naturally, for an event like this, I had to take my Alfa Romeo Spider and I don’t need much of an excuse to go for a drive in it.
Thankfully the rain held off and although a tad chilly in the morning the sun came out and the weather accommodated nicely.
The turnout of exotic Italian cars was fantastic. There were new and old Abarths, Alfa Romeos, Fiats , Ferraris, Maseratis, Lamborghinis to classic Lancias and a De Tomaso.
Some of the owners of the cars (on display) took the opportunity to take their vehicles for a spin up the hill course… even though it wasn’t a timed event.
I think that I can write on behalf of the spectators that we all appreciated hearing and seeing each and every one of these beautiful cars in their natural habitat climbing the hill.
It was also a good opportunity for any “petrolhead” to stock up on vast array of Italian car memorabilia and merchandise.
The visitor car park was like a show in itself!! The array of fab Italian cars (new and old) was like an “added extra” to the whole event – including this parked Ferrari F40!!
All in all, it was a great day out and highly recommended for anyone who loves and appreciates Italian cars.
I can’t wait for the next show!!
