Right then, this one is a 2005 MG TF first registered on 18th February 2005 and it appears to be a tidy example.

It is finished in metallic red with a black interior both of which look to be in very condition. The overall look of this car fits well with the fact it has covered just 26,904 miles which is very low for one of these.

Power comes from the 1.8 litre engine and importantly the head gasket has already been replaced with the later upgraded type, along with a new water pump which is reassuring to see on an MG of this age.

The car comes with a history folder confirming the mileage and MOT valid until 29 March 2026. It also includes a hardtop which makes the car a bit more usable when the weather turns.

The MG TF remains one of the more affordable ways into mid-engined sports car ownership. They are simple, light and good fun to drive with that classic British sports car feel.

Guide price is £6,000 to £8,000 and if it stays somewhere around that level, it could make a nice usable convertible for someone looking for a bit of summer fun.

Before bidding on any auction, it is worth doing a couple of simple checks.

First, run a vehicle history check to make sure that there is no insurance write off records or mileage issues. Auction cars are usually sold as seen, so doing this before you bid is sensible.

This MG TF will be offered at the Historics Auctioneers auction this Saturday and is being offered with no reserve, so it will be interesting to see where it lands against the guide price.
