So here it is….The new Range Rover Velar. The mid sized luxury SUV that will sit between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport.
Prices for the Velar will start at £44,830 on the road and will be on sale from summer 2017.
The smallest engine is the 2.0 litre diesel with CO2 emissions of only 142g/km. The largest engine is the 380PS supercharged 3.0 litre V6 petrol unit.
This vehicle will be 4 wheel drive and can be ordered with an active locking differential as an option.
Air suspension is available on the 300PS diesel and the 380Ps petrol engines.

Inside the new Velar you will find a new 10 inch HD Touch Pro Duo infotainment system which is “the centrepiece of the Velar’s interior” as quoted by Land Rover.

I find that the infotainment systems in ALL new Land Rover’s to be the “centrepieces” of ALL their interiors.

The luggage compartment is 632 litres and the Uk versions gets a spare wheel as standard.

The model range starts with the: Standard, S, SE or HSE.
If you would like a more distinguished look you can opt for the Black and Luxury Exterior Packs.

But the most exclusive model will be the First Edition.

The First Edition will be available for only 1 year worldwide.

Its standard specification (which is better than a HSE) is listed below:

  • Leather trim and seats
  • Meridian Signature 1,600 watt Sound system
  • Matrix Laser LED headlights
  • 22 inch Split Spoke ally wheels
  • Corris Grey, Silicon Silver and Flux Silver exterior paint colours

The First Edition model will be hand sprayed at the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations Techincal Centre in the UK.

We Blog Any thoughts………

Ok, I really hope to have a good look around it at this weeks Geneva Motorshow. From what I see from the pictures, it looks as though Range Rover have really put the right mix of ingredients into the pot.

I am going to stick my neck out on the line and blog this………..If you are in the market for a luxury SUV? I don’t think you can go far wrong with this one!

I would buy it just for the hidden door handles. Very Elegant.

And

If you opt for the First Edition, in time I do think you will be onto a winner with its residual price over a normal HSE.

There you go!

I’ve said it!

Are you going to hold me to it?
