At last!!! The news that we have been waiting for from Woking England. The new McLaren 570S coupe. It is the first and most powerful model launched in the Sports Series.
Everything in this car is race derived, from its lightweight construction to its carbon fibre chassis. It is all about power to weight ratio and McLaren say it has the highest power output and is the lightest car, in this sports car segment, by 150kg.
As We Blog reported on the August 14th 2015, this McLaren Sports Series is going to be the most “affordable” McLaren with prices starting at £126,000.00 when the 540C is launched in Q2 2016. For now we will blog on what is available right now and its the 570S. Prices start at £143,250.00
‘The Sports Series is aimed at a new audience for McLaren,’ explains Mike Flewitt, Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Automotive. ‘It is the first time we’ve competed in the sports car as opposed to the supercar market. As with all McLaren models, we have prioritised performance, driving engagement and exhilaration. It is a totally driver-focused car, with excellent ergonomics and visibility, and a class-leading driving position. This is also the most day-to-day usable, practical and attainable McLaren we’ve ever made. It is a dramatic and beautiful sports car.’
The air-piercing front bumper separates airflow into four directions, with each path being worked over, under and through the sculpted bodywork. The beautiful organic form, with features including the door tendon and flying buttress work with the fixed rear wing to optimise aerodynamics’

From what we can see with their first attempt of an “affordable” McLaren, we think that they have done an impressive job. The technology that has been packed into this vehicle is immense. With McLaren being McLaren, you know that with this car if it wasn’t right they wouldn’t have produced it and would of gone back to the drawing board. They enjoy creating innovative processes and technologies.
