Polesatar, the new Electric Performance brand by Volvo, has announced the launch markets for the Polestar 1, which is Polestars first ever car to be launched.

The countries that have been selected for the initial launch are : USA, China, Germany, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands.

Customers will be able to visit the “Polestar Space” to see the car in person. The Polestar Spaces in the initial selected countries will be opened by mid 2019.

More new Polestar Spaces will be launched around the world at later dates.

Apart from looking like a stunning 2 door coupe, the Polestar 1 is a plug-in hybrid with a petrol 4 cylinder supercharged and turbocharged engine that drives the front wheels. 2 electric motors drive the rear wheels.

The combined power from the petrol engine and the 2 electric motors is a whooping 600 hp and torque of 1000 Nm.

On electric power alone Polestar claim it will travel up to 93 miles making this the longest range on pure electric power of any hybrid car to date in the world.

All future Polestar cars, including the Polestar 1 will be offered with a no deposit monthly payment that covers everything including insurance.
