Now that I am back home after my trip to the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2019, I have been doing some thinking.  A few of the big manufacturers were not at this year’s show.  It did mean however that the ones that did attend could spread themselves out with huge stands.  Two themes stuck out in my mind.  A definite shift towards electric mobility (with electric cars everywhere) and getting the customer to experience the brands welcoming, cuddly and friendly side with seating areas, charging points and mini live shows.

It was also the launch of some pretty important vehicles from the likes of Land Rover with their new Defender, Porsche with their Taycan, Vauxhall with their new Corsa, VW with their new ID.3 and a very interesting Chinese car company called WEY that I have never heard of until now.

I do feel as if the whole landscape is changing but only if the governments get a shift on with installing more new charging points.

I predict more interesting times ahead.
