This weekend I had the opportunity to visit the 2018 Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery, at the NEC Birmingham.
One thing that I noticed immediately was with so much on display… I really needed 2 days just to see it and take it all in.
The show was covering 6 halls and there were (apparently) over 3,000 classic cars and motor bikes on display.  I didn’t count them…..but I can believe it!   For me…what made this a truly magical show, is that the majority of cars on display have an interesting history.  You can either read the notes on the plinth next to the car or you can have the pleasure of speaking to the owner…. which is a gem if you were thinking of buying a classic car or you have a classic car question.
I couldn’t believe the amount of classic car motoring clubs all under one roof! Think of a motor manufacturer, a model of car and the chances are the motoring club was there.
There is even the chance to buy new and used spare parts or to visit the Restoration Theatre for some learning.

I had a little “walk by visit” to the Silverstone Auctions where they held auctions over the weekend.
My hands where firmly in my pockets….otherwise I would’ve started bidding on the stunning cars.

On The Discovery Live Stage, at various times during the day, you could see Wheeler Dealers Mike Brewer and Ant Anstead (along with other motoring world celebs and professionals) you could ask them questions.
There was even the opportunity to have a “Ride and Drive” classic car experience.

I hope you enjoy looking at some of my highlight photos below.  More will be added to the We Blog Any Car Facebook and Instagram pages over the next few days.

On a final note I am really looking forward to the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show 2019, with Discovery, next year.  If you are a car enthusiast you must add this event to your 2019 calendar.

Note to self …. next year spend more than just a day there!

The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery is on next year from the 8-10 November 2019.
